How Often See Revision Rhinoplasty Surgeon Post-Op?

My patients are typically seen twenty four to forty eight hours after revision rhinoplasty. Packing is removed at this visit. Weekly visits follow for the next two weeks. The patient is then seen at three, six, and 12 months after surgery. This regimen varies from surgeon to surgeon.

What Is Revision Rhinoplasty?

Revision rhinoplasty, also known as a secondary nose job, is a surgical procedure to correct or improve the results of a previous nose surgery. Whether you’re unhappy with the appearance of your nose or you’re experiencing functional problems, revision rhinoplasty can help. However, after the procedure, it’s important to know how often you should see your surgeon for follow-up appointments.

The Importance of Post-Op Appointments

After revision rhinoplasty, your surgeon will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your healing progress and ensure that you’re happy with the results. These appointments are important for several reasons:

  • Your surgeon can check for any complications, such as infections, bleeding, or breathing problems.
  • Your surgeon can monitor the healing process and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the best results.
  • You can discuss any concerns or questions you may have with your surgeon.

How Often Should You See Your Surgeon?

The frequency of post-op appointments will depend on your individual case and your surgeon’s preferences. In general, you can expect to see your surgeon for the following appointments:

  • 1 week after surgery: Your surgeon will remove any packing or splints and check for any signs of infection or bleeding.
  • 1 month after surgery: Your surgeon will check your healing progress and discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
  • 3 months after surgery: Your surgeon will evaluate the results and make any necessary adjustments.
  • 6 months after surgery: Your surgeon will ensure that you’ve fully healed and discuss any long-term care.

Conclusion

Revision rhinoplasty can be a life-changing procedure, but it’s important to know what to expect after the surgery. By following your surgeon’s post-op instructions and attending all scheduled appointments, you can ensure the best possible results. If you have any concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your surgeon for guidance.
